Please remember to use your own critical thinking while you’re setting up for your Simmer Pot.
Find a medium or large pot and fill it 3/4 of the way full with water, then place on your stove, turning the element up to High Heat. This will be temporary as we will be reducing the heat later on - we are simply jump starting the process of warming the water to release the aromatics sooner.
Empty the contents of your Simmer Pot Bag into your pot.
Grab a spoon (we have a designated wooden spoon we use for our simmer pots at home) and stir your ingredients clockwise, focusing on the intention of Cleaning & Protection.
Turn your stove down to Medium-Low (usually about a 4 on the average kitchen stove) and wait for a low simmer to start, adjusting your heat range as necessary. We don’t want all the water to evaporate too quickly!
Once your pot is at a low simmer, stir your ingredients again, only this time counterclockwise to begin releasing those beautiful scents and all that magic around your home. We’re stirring counterclockwise this time as you want to be releasing the protection out into your home, as well as the cleaning and deflection of negativity (of any kind)
Periodically check on your simmer pot, being sure to add more water to the pot as it evaporates, and stirring occasionally. For this simmer pot specifically you’re going to want to alternate between stirring clockwise and counterclockwise. Turn off your stove element when you’re done using your simmer pot for the day.
BONUS INFO: You can reuse your simmer pot for upwards of 10 days! Simply cover your pot and place it in your fridge overnight, then pop it back onto the stove in the morning. When the contents of your Simmer Pot Bag are looking a little…mushy… then you can scoop them out and toss them into your compost. Returning the ingredients to the earth whenever possible is a beautiful way to finish things off. Since the ingredients essentially boiled down into a reduction, the aromatics are still very much alive in your pot. Top up with water and get your pot back on some heat! Please note that should you actively choose not to put your simmer pot in the fridge, you may not get as much longevity out of it. There is no guarantee how long your simmer pot bag will last for sure, but at minimum 3 uses is usual.
